About

How do you measure Karma?

Here, Karma is measured in the time you spend helping others – a concept that is at the heart of how Karmagora works to bring more awesome do-gooders and do-goodery to the community than ever before. When you spend 15 minutes helping someone else, either in person or letting them borrow something, they will award you one Karma; help someone for one hour and they will award you four Karmas.  Where does this person get the Karmas they give you?  They’ve earned them beforehand by helping someone else.

Karmagora is a community of many different skills and resources.  When you earn Karmas from someone, you’re free to spend those Karmas with any Karmagora member on the need that’s unique to your situation.  From needing your yard mowed to getting help on your golf swing, the possibilities are endless.

A “Welcome Gift” of – What Else? – Karma!

Of course, you’ll want to get involved right away.  And, since everyone deserves some good karma, we’ll start by giving you a batch of Karmas to start with when you first join Karmagora.

When you register, you’ll get four Karmas.  After that, you’re free to earn and give as much Karma as you want!

Time is time.  Not money.

So maybe you’re thinking, is this fair? One person mows a lawn and, in return, gets legal services…

Keep in mind, Karmas aren’t equivalent to money; they are measured by time and need. The time provided to help another member is a donation of that person’s free time, not a part of their work schedule.
